BS 5837 - Tree Constraints Plan
A Tree Constraints Plan (TCP) is a site map that shows the location of trees on a development site, including how far their roots and branches extend. By using a TCP early in the planning process, they can design buildings around important trees, avoid damage, reduce costly errors, and meet tree protection rules while still completing their projects successfully.
Arboricultural Method Statement (AMS)
An Arboricultural Method Statement (AMS) is a document that explains how building or development work can be done safely near trees. It sets out steps to protect trees, including their roots and branches, from damage during construction or demolition. Local councils often ask for an AMS when granting planning permission for projects close to trees.
Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA)
An Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA) is a report that looks at how a proposed development might affect trees on or near the site. It considers things like root protection areas, shading, and the impact of construction to assess any potential harm to tree health during and after the build.
